Some people are unaware that a legal marketer position even exists, and some of those who are aware may not understand exactly what the position entails.
Among various other job responsibilities, a legal marketer:
- Protects the law firm’s image. Legal marketers generally oversee all changes and improvements made on a law firm’s website, blog or anything else that represents the firm’s image in any way. Legal marketers make sure a firm is always seen in a positive light, which is also known as “reputation management.”
- Takes care of all client relations. While a Human Resources department takes care of internal relationship matters, a legal marketer is responsible for handling all outside client relations including conferences and various other events.
- Controls all aspects of the firm’s online presence. Whether it’s revamping the firm’s website, enforcing SEO to get the firm’s name more prominent on the web or updating its Facebook or other social media site, legal marketers make sure firms are efficiently marketed well throughout the web.
