Maine Legal Marketing

Maine became the union’s 23rd state on March 15, 1820, and is both the easternmost state in the United States and the northernmost state in New England. Nicknamed the Pine Tree State, Maine is the largest of the New England states, but is still a relatively small state, with a land area of only 33,215 square miles and an estimated 2009 population of 1,318,301. Several US cities have larger populations.

York, Maine was America’s first chartered town, way back in 1641. Nearby Portland is Maine’s largest city with a population of 64,249. The state capital is the much smaller Augusta, with only 18,560 residents.
