Idaho Legal Marketing

Idaho’s oldest town, Franklin, was founded in April 1860. Its oldest mining town sprang up later that year, after gold was found in Orofino Creek. These tiny towns each had less than 700 residents as of the 2000 census. The Idaho Territory was created in 1863 and joined the Union on July 3, 1890 as the 43rd state.

Gold is not the only resource in Idaho; 72 different gemstones come from the Gem State, and some of them can’t be found anywhere else in the world. There hasn’t been a gemstone rush, though, and the state’s population is only about 1,545,800. Boise was named the state capital in 1865 and today is also the largest city, with around 198,600 residents.
