Colorado Legal Marketing

Colorado’s first town was San Luis, founded on April 9, 1851, and consisting of 50 families. Soon gold was discovered, and the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush began in 1858, ending about the time the Colorado Territory was created, in 1861. Some 100,000 people had come to the area during those years.

Today, San Luis is the county seat of Costilla County, but it’s still tiny, with just 739 people in 2000.  Colorado itself is home to over 5,024,700 residents, and about 567,000 of them live in Denver, the state’s capital and largest city.
